The Ukrainian egg project was a spontaneous event organized by my daughter, Elise, who had learned the art last year. The children buzzed around the table and painted egg after egg, all day long. It was a nice coincidence that the study of Russia came right before Easter.

Decorating Ukrainian eggs (Pysanky) is a centuries-old tradition. Your family can experience the fun of creating your own treasures. The kit includes a colorful instruction booklet, a medium tip kistka (candle-heated tool) for drawing your design in wax, special dark-colored beeswax for better visibility, five packets of colorful dye, and a cleaning wire for the kistka.
