Toy Steam Boats are great for studying about immigrants and Ellis Island—many immigrants came on steam-powered ships that landed on Ellis Island. They are also used to demonstrate Newton's Third Law! A small candle heats water in the small boiling chamber. This causes steam to puff out of the pipes at the back of the boat, propelling the boat forward. The steam boats are fun to play with in a bathtub or pond. Two candles for powering your boat are included.
